Well, being the optimist I am, I'd like to believe the law still exists because it would/could be used in the event it's non-consensual, but the pessimist in me knows that isn't the reason they tell the kids it's illegal & haven't removed if from their statutes.

I know, I was watching Jeopardy (Wheel?) last week & one of the contestants said he was touring the country with an anti-bullying troupe, & when the host asked what ages, he replied high school, maybe middle school. I thought immediately "too late;" by then its been embedded & engrained as effective to the bullies…

Yup, whoever the police hear from first is the story they believe as the "god's-honest-gosple-truth." If the police ever show up, and you didn't call them, they are not on your side/friend. ever.

I was told the "don't react" thing, & I've realized that bullies bully (in part) because they like the reaction they get. When the victim doesn't react, the bullies will escalate the terror.

So the idea is that it's only self-defense if/after the other person actually physically hits you?

I was usually pretty good at talking my way out of physical confrontations... The only time I failed was when a bully instigated a "fight" between a friend and me... Who somehow ended up on the floor with me sitting on him asking "why are you trying to fight me, when he's the one who..."

So, because there were no physical scars/evidence, or previous documented track-record of the torment, he had/has no right to defend himself from daily(?) harassment & abuse? Psychological scars can be much bigger & take much longer to heal(if ever).

After the supreme court's ruling in the TX case, I can't imagine that the Alabama code could be enforced... tho schools have been know to lie to their students & the students to believe it...

All the way to a degree? At what school? A real school? An accredited one?

So, straight out, she assumes that the pink-ish one is for girls & the blue(black?)-ish one is for boys? Seems odd that someone who'd take the time/make the effort to complain about the text on them wouldn't comment on the color of the items & the supposed appropriateness of each color for which gender.

So, "Pro-Life" states treat actual, living, breathing women & children like crap? Somehow I'm not surprised, sadly.

I don't think it should limit the real police agencies in anyway, but it seems to. Experience shows they don't seem to handle much of any of the crimes committed on campus? As that is _their_ job, why is it that society has handed that responsibility to universities instead? 'Cause it doesn't seem to be working out…

I clicked on each design available(as I did months ago when I first heard about this feature), and every one of them was guilty of at least 2 or 3 of the problems I listed, if not others as well. Granted, I suppose if I were able to format my lists so that they formatted them correctly/decently enough that'd be one…

My problem with "features" like this isn't so much that they are cookie-cutter designs that many other people will use, but that the formatting is horrible. Bullet points that run together in a single paragraph, bullet points that don't have the hanging indent, bad page breaks, gigantic fonts, uninspired font choices.…
