Those are Art Deco wands you heathens. They are pure representations of the style of the era the movie is set in. Think of the Empire State Building main hall and translate that entire gorgeous scenery into one elegant wand. Doesn’t it just make sense?

The addition of colour tracks with what they have been trying to do since the very start. Start in a world that is not in a good place, with those that would seek to use and abuse others (pa Kents speech in MoS) and through the characters coming out work toward a world filled with hope and colour again.
