In my opinion if they want to style with a pinch of realism they should look at Mario Kart 8. It’s the right blend. (That Mario in NYC for the switch looks like crap).
Cartoonish style + realistic shaders works. (ex: Ratchet and Clank) I think they need to turn style up a few notches in this Sonic game.
