I have two nextwave books on my shelf. Agents of HATE and I Kick Your Face. were there more after that? please tell me there are more. i will do horrible, legally inadvisable things for more Nextwave, or just buy it if that is an option.

I think the Reeds are interesting enough characters on their own - they live on floating islands, some are Greenseers, and seem to have a good bit in common with the Children of the Forest. Meera fits too well into that to be a secret Targaryen. I feel the same way about Jon Snow - he’s Ned’s son more than anyone

at their age, it is extremely important to eat heatlhy...

I am more interested in Mads Mikkelsen. I wonder what sort of aliens he will invite over for dinner?

am I the only one left wondering what happened to the Hell-Priest’s little demon baby from the beginning? did I miss a paragraph explaining where that thread went, or is she just a loose thread that will be left forever dangling?

Movie I value so highly that won’t associate with someone who hates it? American Psycho, Falling Down any David Lynch. Movies I dislike enough that liking them is a dealbreaker? Man of Steel, Pacific Rim, any Peter Jackson directed thing set in Middle Earth.

I’ve been using creeping small changes to improve my habits for about a year, and i like this method. smaller changes are easier to stick with, and even when I do backslide it isn’t all or nothing, just not as changed as it could be.

Del Toro’s “The Strain” addresses vampir excretion: as new blood comes in, liquid vampire excretion comes out, typically pumped into the victim to help force the blood out quicker but also sprayable all over the place, and chock full of the little parasites what turn someone into a vampire. so they can infect you

i keep some of these in my desk at work for snacking. I never noticed any particular branding for men or women on any of them - I just get whichever nut/caramel/cookie/chocolate flavored ones are on sale that week at the supermarket.

Gurion ben judah from The Instructions. fights bigotry and tyranny, shares instructions on how to make your own tools for doing same, gets headlines. Honorable mention: Paul Muad’dib.

I believe the correct answer to “should I get back together with my ex” is always “No.” They’re an ex for a reason. Learn whatever you can from the situation and go do things that make you happy.

it has to be someplace remote enough to not bother/be bothered by the muggle populace yet still accessible (probably by car since there isn’t much travel by rail in the US), big spooky woods are nice to keep students in and tresspassers out. close to mountains and sea for access to fantastic beast habitat. I think I

This thread is sadly lacking a visible mention of Australian Indoor Rules quidditch, as invented by the Mac Hall webcomic. I will rectify this immediately.

if you are working, it isn’t a vacation. it is just doing work in a nicer environment. if you can successfully work in a vacation setting, ask your boss about moving your desk to wherever it is you vacation since it is obviously nicer than the office but doesn’t get in the way of doing actual work.

i work for a big company where hundreds of other people do what I do. There’s a finite number of vacation/sick/paid-time-off spots available on any given day to make sure enough people are there to do what needs doing, and everyone gets some time off as part of their compensation package (with my seniority i get 28

wine is fermented plant juice. Koala pee is fermented plant juice. makes sense to me.

There’s plenty of horror without occult or supernatural things in it. The first season of true detective could arguably fall into that category, and I would not be surprised if season 2 goes down a similar road.
