Owning a home is two things. It meets the need of shelter for some cost, and it is also an investment.

The worst of both worlds? You've get the density, noise, and rules of an apartment with the financial obligations of a house.

...you have a place you can do anything you want with...

I think mortgage price vs rent is a huge factor. I was able to buy a small 2/2 home on a 1/4 acre two years ago, and it was much cheaper than my slightly smaller apartment with relatively similar living standards. It needs some updating, but with the deal I got on the place it is doable.

The national media took up this story as if the event of someone getting carried partly toward or across the finish line at the marathon is somehow unique to this specific instance of the marathon. Sorry folks, this happens every year, multiple times. Pre and post-2013.

That 30,000 for an average wedding figure always amazes me. Not knocking anyone's wedding, but it certainly is possible to do it for less. My wife and I spent 10k on ours, and 6k of that was the honeymoon.

What you did was straight out of the Alinsky plan. By the way, you still haven't specifically countered anything I've said. I guess you'll take those Alinsky methods to the grave.

You haven't corrected anything. Not once, have you specifically countered anything I've said. A generic "no he didn't", doesn't exactly count. I gave you the quote and linked it to my argument. You chose not to counter. Your methods are straight out of the Alinsky plan.

Do you guys just have a singular playbook for how to argue? Don't ever specifically counter a point, just generically label the opposition as a racist and all will be well. I'm not sure anyone takes these tactics all that serious outside of a Brandeis sociology classroom.

You have no counter point, that's fine. I'll continue to not be bullied by these minority fascists. You can carry my "white guilt" for me if you like.

Who are the racists wearing the neckties and starched shirts? Seeing as how he was speaking about Republicans a mere two sentences earlier, common sense would tell you that they are one in the same. Not possible though, I know. Only white people can practice racism.

"We can talk about baseball. Talk about politics. Sure, this country has a black president, but when you look at a black president, President Obama is left with his foot stuck in the mud from all of the Republicans with the way he's treated.

Hank Aaron called any republican who opposes Barack Obama a clan member. Isn't this just fighting fire with fire?

Yes, all critics of our nation's first black President are racists. It couldn't be that people disagree with his fiscal policy, style of diplomacy or his murder of innocent Afghans with Hellfire missiles.

I was always told that sprinters lean forward because their time is determined on when their chest crosses the finish line. For instance if there is a photo finish and one runner's leg crossed first, and the other runner's chest crossed first, the chest wins.

Let's also not rule out that the base is a further linear distance away from one's hand. This type of thing should be expected from some idiot that still values statistical categories created over a hundred years ago that make no logical sense.

As a high school baseball coach, I know that sprinting through 1st base is faster than sliding, but I'll be damned if I haven't seen more kids get called safe for sliding head first because "gritty!" "heart!" "scrappy!" or just tricking umpires...etc etc...
