My favorite this year is Horizon: Zero Dawn. It’s game of the generation for me so far. Loved it! My favorite videogame story since The Last of Us and one of the best sci fi stories in any medium. Combine that with amazing visuals and top-tier moment-to-moment gameplay and the game is a blast.

I think it really depends on what type of games you like but for me What remains of Edith Finch is a highlight in an absolute incredible year for gaming.

I get that, and it’s all through. I’ve been a lurker for some years and a member for months and until this event I had never read anything about the 2012 incident. But going from there to have a “general hate” for Neogaf as a all is what I don’t understand. I bet most users knew nothing about those past problems. Goes

I don’t quite get the general hate towards the entire Neogaf community after this news. I’ve been a lurker of the site for years and a member for some months, some of the best discussions I’ve ever seen about gaming were on that site, it had some really intelligent and interesting members.

Hey, you know what could be really cool when fighting discrimination? Not do it yourself. I know this is written with a humorous tone, but still...

YES! Well deserved! Evan Narcisse has always been an highlight of Kotaku for me personally and I love reading everything he does concerning racial issues and the portrayal of black characters in pop culture. Can’t wait to read this

Ok Jason, the marketing for your book is getting a little out of hand...

I’m sure they did what they thought was best for the company and it was a good deal but this is very disappointing. I have an iPhone, but I would never play Journey on it as a choice. It’s like David Fincher releasing a new movie that you can only watch on a smartphone screen: no thank you

I’m currently addicted to Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, one of the best games this gen! Can’t believe I slept on it. The sci fi atmosphere is one of the best I’ve seen, love it!

No matter how you put it, having it as a payed DLC rubbed me the wrong way immediately. It’s a really cool homage to a person I’m sure they all cared deeply about and who would certainly be enjoying the memorial. But they should released it as a free DLC and have a way for those who want to donate to his family. It

I thought Simpsons would have enough music by now, had no idea they had an orchestra shoot every episode, sounds expensive and very very unnecessary.

Can I join you? This is the first time I read about the surgical mask, I just accepted that he was a maniac.

Bought Deus Ex: Mankind Divided since it was so cheap on psn (13€). I didn’t finish Human Revolution, got bored half-way through and other games came out. But everything I saw about Mankind Divided, specially the praise Prague’s atmosphere and side missions got, make me excited to play it.

The handgun sequence in TitanFall2 is nothing short of amazing, pure adrenaline shot to the veins.

While I see where they’re coming from, I’m not sure it’s the right thing to do. Developers shouldn’t go around mechanics just because some players can’t play the game the way it is supposed to.

I feel like Hellblade is the most important game of the year, and probably the generation.

If having fun is the only reason you expose yourself to entertainment, then probably this game isn’t for you. Not every movie is fun, not every exhibition is fun. And art is not supposed to. Sometimes it’s about learning, about yourself and others. It’s about experiencing emotions through entertainment/art (I know

It’s not a preorder, it’s crowdfunding. I have no idea why people are still trying to find names and analogies for something that it’s not that new anymore, has a name, a methodology, its own pros and cons. And it can be a great experience for both the developer and backer if done right.

I’m a little ashamed to admit it, but I bought MWR (plus infinite) mostly to play prop hunt :P

That would be genuinely cool and a great twist on expectations!
