Don't know if it was like this at everyone's school (that had a lacrosse team), but at mine the lacrosse players were the uber-dickhead jocks, way more than any of the other sports. They were basically a living version of the "asshole football player" stereotype you see in 80's movies and shit. Which was ironic…

Exactly. Hate to date myself, but over 20 years ago (!) my freshman-year roommate was a lacrosse player that did a post-baccalaureate year at Exeter. A lot of kids do it so they can get their grades and test scores up, improve their game, and get into a better college. This is not news.

Parents holding kids back at the hopes of a athletic scholarship to a school that they could afford to pay for without the scholarship is amusing.
