You make a good point here in that I think it is not the current poverty that causes this behavior, but instead the speed at which a fair few got out of poverty and actuall jumped passed the middle class gap. I have to honestly say that a major component is the upbringing and the level of education. Poverty, especially for the mainlanders who can travel, is not the major concern. It is rather the fact that a lot of mainlanders have become quite wealthy in such a short time and hence their education and "refinement" has yet…

You point out the exact problem with most people not being able to tell the difference between Hong Kong locals and Chinese mainlanders. The rest of the world views the behavior as just Chinese in general.

I sometimes wonder whether the Chinese will think it's ok if you walk into their homes and just pee everywhere.

This is one of the reason why I have been a PS fan and will continue with PS4, they continue to put out games like this. Journey and many others which not only provides a different perspective on gameplay, but also invokes emotions.
