Had a similar experience re adjusting volume of nav voice instructions on my e90 m3. Took years to learn that you have to turn up the radio volume knob *while the woman is speaking*, which will turn her volume up independently of the radio.

I actually got fed up with the stalk high beams so i installed a floor switch in my 89 ciera. Loved it.

There’s a lot to be said for console mounted window switches. Routing wires into the doors is kind of fraught; the conduit can break down and the wires wear with mechanical flexing. As well, by putting the switches in the console it eliminates the need for redundant circuits between the doors.

And it’s still the best high-beam switch location.

Better than the Neon option...power windows for the fronts only, rears were manual... into the 00s!

Can I nominate the location for the 1/4 window switches in the 1991-1994 Nissan 240SX Convertible? The Vert is the only 240SX with 4 windows, the main side windows and then the 1/4 windows. In usual ASC ClusterF*** fashion, instead of making new door card inserts to fit the extra switches, they just slapped them in

which one is for oil slicks?

Does the glove box have a lock on it? This was likely done because of the convertible version so you could leave top down and have the extra security of storing items in the trunk with the button being locked away.

EV1 was leased and serviced at Saturn dealerships.

Well off (read: older) people buy Aston Martins and those same people find it easier to get in and out of cars without crouching down. Oh also, they don’t typically find the need to go around a corner at 120mph.

Just like the Journeys a couple weeks ago, this is a scheme to cover the subprime bank fee.

I’d think “Ole Isoroku Yamamoto” would be a better homage to their history.

Why wait for the capsule to hit the ground, catch it while falling:

Jason, welcome to multiple watch lists. Let’s be honest, you were already on several - you just moved up in the ranks on those and added a couple new ones to the mix.

Could you crap yourself hard enough while you’re in your car to total it? Because if someone was driving across that bridge, that’s what they did.

With some designs, the deck is left to sit without bolts (sometimes each end of the deck rests in a kind of cradle), making it more tolerant of vibration and thermal expansion &c.

I don't even know what SJW stands for

After renting a slightly larger, but still small enough to fit through a standard 36" doorway diesel powered one - I joked to my wife that if I ever truly lost my shit, I was gonna:

“If you have a hammer, every problem becomes a nail.”

What is this, an excavator for ants?
