I used to be a baggage handler that worked nights when no supervisors  gave a crap. We used to hoon the tugs on snowy days in the dark areas of the airport where they got little traffic. The neon is no speed demon but I could definitely see some inexperienced kid crashing the neon into plenty of things.

That assumes the reward for their work is money. If Gates had stopped then we'd have millions more early deaths from malaria, to name one thing his wealth has impacted. 

Probably give 99% of it away. I don’t think I would ever want billions, nor deal with the pressure of holding on to it. I’d probably keep like... 15 million or so, and start funding things that need doing, like removing trash from the oceans and funding renewable fuel sources.

Probably the same as Elon Musk is doing. Finance any ridiculous tech venture because I got fuck you money. Also finance a shitton of research along with it. Advance science and technology. I assume that advancement would better the world too, but its not my explicit goal. I’d just love to make crazy new technology…

I have a hard time understanding how these people are so passionate about what they do that they continue to work. I’d stop working long before I became the richest man and cash out. Even $1 billion is way more than enough to let me live any life I’d want to.

A relative worked at Cat’s big competitor and their equipment all uses the same key (at least as of 2015). Your lawn tractor’s key will start any other loader or tractor they make. This is not advertised, but it is true.
