Well wouldja lookit that. Turns out graphics aren’t as important as gameplay. Strange times.
I always considered it the good ending. You bring about change and allow the world to move forward, as opposed to just delaying the inevitable. It’s the progressive ending, in a way.

HOW is a standalone so you won’t need the first dlc but obviously you’ll be missing out on a raid and some other stuff
Mods being broken on updates is pretty normal for anyone used to the modding scene.

That’s not lazy, that’s inevitable. If you’ve ever worked on any software project of any significant scope, development remnants are absolutely unavoidable and completely inefficient to remove when they have negligible impact on the game itself.
It could be way better if it were remade to today’s gaming standards (in terms of graphics/resolutions, primarily). Playing at the game’s highest resolution on a 1920 x 1080 monitor doesn’t do the game justice.
I liked the first FU but really hated the second. FU for me was about having force powers and being awesome. FU2 was about having force powers, but not being allowed to be awesome because every enemy blocked your force powers. Thus began an exercise in frustration that made me quit after the third level.
Finally this game gets some love. The only way it could be better is if it had 4-player co-op.
