It drives me a little crazy how people are starting to call all flying rc drones but I also understand as there is not much of a definition of a drone. I am under the impression though that the main difference is that a drone is flown FPV (first person view) you see from a camera on the vehicle. For standard RC is

At first i was going to comment and with something like "If it has 4-wheels, it can be hooned." But after a bit of thinking I dont think that is even a requirement and it now turns into a question

@Canon7D-Fanboy: Yes a UV filter would help against scratches and such but it is still mounted directly to the lens. I would bet the body of the lens would still get damaged in a case like this. I do wonder how the protective glass is mounted in this case. I am guessing it is part of an external housing for the
