Nearly everything the Robotech franchise has tried to do (outside of books, comics, and Shadow Chronicles) has failed to get off the ground. Hell, you probably could have thrown in the stillborn N64 game Crystal Dreams to this. It really is laughable how bad these guys are at completing projects.

That's a good point. I should have qualified what I meant by projects. They're good at getting books and comics out, just not animated features. Hell, even the N64 game Crystal Dreams never got off the ground. These guys can't finish anything.

This will be especially useful for when I hunt Special Forces units in the jungles of South American.

Oh my. I haven't seen this one yet. This must be Agent Locke pre-SPARTAN IV program?

Yeah, it's not the fans, it's Harmony Gold. Their track record of completing projects is horrendous. Shadow Chronicles is the only thing that made it, and it was heavily delayed before it finally got released...and it sucked.

Sentinals did get novelized by Jack McKinney (pen name for two authors working together) in the late '80s. They were "de-canon-ed" when Shadow Chronicles came out, which is a shame because Shadow Chronicles sucked. But yes, you're right.

I have the exact same condition as you (red-green to be specific). However, I know it's common, but to call it colorblindness is a complete misnomer and leads to the reactions you describe in the article. More accurately, it's "color vision deficient". I try to specify that when I describe to people how it works, so

You could almost use this as a jumpoff for another article for shows that started off brilliantly, but then completely fell apart by the second season (Heroes would be next on the list).

Agreed! The first season had such solid and concise storytelling and every episode kept you engaged and wanting more. The 2nd season was still amazing, but you could see the show start to falter a little bit, and you started to get one-off episodes that didn't really propel the overall narrative (Black Market!). But

Gotcha!

Well I personally can't. But I suppose one could, should one be so inclined.

It definitely was all rotoscoped. I guess the question is, can you consider rotoscope a primitive form of motion capture?

I don't know, I keep reading similar criticisms of the show over at IMDb (where apparently everyone hates it), and, frankly, I' don't understand why. I really enjoy the slow burn so far. And, at only 2 episodes in, I'm surprised that people are frustrated with the lack of explanation. Is it complete LOST-backlash?

I don't know, have you seen Batman & Robin and Batman Begins back-to-back? It's pretty jarring.

I totally agree. But I also felt it had a tonal shift from the previous two that I would like to believe Cuaron was responsible for.

What happens when indie directors take on big franchises? 9 times out of 10 their creativity and uniqueness are stifled by the big studio system and the constraints of operating in a pre-existing franchise they didn't help to develop. And, for what it's worth, Prisoner of Azkaban was pretty god damn good, AND

God damn, that's the best explanation for blowing on NES cartridges I've ever heard.

The fact the Robert Orci is still involved is not a good sign, despite his fan-service comments.

You filthy fat communist.
