Iron Man 3 gets a lot of flack, but I loved it. And it was definitely an improvement over Iron Man 2. So far, Phase 2 has been solid, and The Winter Solider looks amazing. I'm excited for this and Guardians of the Galaxy in August.

So does this count as a reboot or a retcon?

I came here to say this exact same thing. The tv series is essentially a reboot of the movie. Some elements are retained, but overall, the continuity is not the same.

"but hey, it's better than nothing right? "

I don't think Shredder so much looks like Megatron as he does Sauron. Either way, I think he looks badass.

I enjoyed Pitch Black and Chronicles, but man, Riddick was really bad. Like-half-a-notch-above-a-SyFy-channel-original-movie bad

They would have had to seriously bulk him up to play Thor. Hiddleston is compact and well-muscled, but you need a tank to fill that role.

It's Daniel Cudmore. Same dude who's played Colossus in all screen incarnations of the character, so you're wife should be ok ;)

Agreed. I think the showrunners wanted to go another season.

God this show blew my mind when I was a kid. It really was a great show; tonally much closer to Japanese Anime, and far ahead of anything other U.S. cartoons were doing at the time (or really since).

I guess none of these are publicly held companies. That, or they are very good at hiding/masking significant capital investments in large, batshit-crazy projects with, ostensibly, very little shareholder return.

A turkey, huh? OK, try to imagine yourself in the Cretaceous Period. You get your first look at this "six foot turkey" as you enter a clearing. He moves like a bird, lightly, bobbing his head. And you keep still because you think that maybe his visual acuity is based on movement like T-Rex - he'll lose you if you

A white dwarf exploded last night ...

One of these dumb fucks is going to fuck up and die. Darwinism, idiots.

Those filthy pinko bastards.

Fucking well done.

Well, it's good to see that this cybernetic organism that had its life ripped violently away from it, stripping it of its humanity/memory and leaving its wife and young son without a husband/father, has the appropriate level of snark left intact.

That's a fair point. But I think rebooting Batman AND introducing Wonder Woman in the same sequel is still a tall order, even without all of the unsubstantiated rumors of other characters popping up in BvsS.

The more I hear about how many characters are getting shoehorned into Batman Vs. Superman, and now this, the more desperate DC sounds to get a Justice League movie off the ground, and it doesn't really sound like they have a solid plan of how to do it.

That's awesome. Thanks for that link.
