I suppose this is what happens when your game is an interactive junk drawer full of things that never actually mattered. It’s peak Destiny that so much is being removed. When it comes to Destiny 2, the only thing that has ever seemed to matter to Bungie is the moment. The Destiny universe is a mess, so it’s not

Thank god I’m too old for this shit.

As with many hobbies, the upper echelons of skateboarding have long been dominated by white dudes who have the privilege of rarely coming face-to-face with obstacles based on their identity.”

Nah, people need to know not to support shit like this.

Worse - a society that *can* but chooses not to. The U.S. has fallen out of the first world by choice.

I’m guessing this looks really good to the core fans

My first Halo memory? My older cousins telling my father the blood-spatters in Halo 2's local 4 player co-op were just paint in this definitely-a-paintball-game game. My dad knew better but rolled with it, allowing 8 (?) year old me to continue being melee killed by the flag I was supposed to be capturing.

I just do not agree with this talking point about the art style trying to hearken back to the original look of Halo CE. Back then, these visuals were considered gritty realism, and the art direction intentionally inspired our imaginations to fill in the blanks. That demo was a small vertical slice designed to sell you what the very best of the engine has to offer.

In other words, the folks at 343 know exactly what they’re doing.

Hrmm. I’m getting some warm fuzzy memories of the CE days, and how I remember that defining game.....but am I alone in thinking this doesn’t look high end enough to be considered next gen? Or even current gen? I’m getting an HDR version of a x360 game vibe here....it just doesn’t look technically stunning I guess?

Yeah I’m so used to how amazing Destiny is in terms of audio/visual feedback, this was just “pop pop pop” and the enemies hardly react to the shots. That stuff is so vitally important for making an FPS feel good.

I didn’t mind that it looked a bit muddy. I haven’t played through a Halo game since ODST, and I’ve wanted to get back into the series because I loved those games back in the day. An open-world Halo is something I’ve wanted for almost 20 years now. It doesn’t bother me that the graphics weren’t mind blowing.

If you told me that footage was from an xbox 360 halo game I would have believed you, and then yawned.

Then you aren’t a fan of 90% of SMT’s artwork.

Just wanted to start with the obligatory “these slideshows are terrible and whoever mandated them should feel bad and be cursed with accidentally dropping their lunch all over their pants every single day.”

Why a salt cellar? Why not a Himalayan salt lamp?

The correct solution is to put them both on a shelf somewhere and use a salt grinder and a pepper grinder

The correct solution is put salt in both and use a pepper-grinder.
