Yeah I think you're right after looking at the photo again. They looked pretty gargantuan at that angle. I was mostly going off of head size in comparison to monitor size, which makes it look much bigger.

A 27" monitor is a pretty good size. It's got a higher resolution and a much faster refresh rate than a TV, making it a lot better for gaming than a TV. Usually, the larger the TV, the slower the refresh rate. It's why a lot of huge TV's have "ghosting" problems.
