I get Depo Provera shots every three months at my local Planned Parenthood and I love it. I mostly use birth control to control my periods, so not having a period at all has been amazing to me. I almost got an IUD but then I kept hearing horror stories from friends of people that had major problems from the IUD moving

Didn't read the rest of the comments so not sure if someone has already given you this advice, but here's my two cents:

ok, honestly though, the Mirena insertion wasn't horrific. it was painful but, dude, they just give you 4 Advil and I mean, it's just the one time, and then FIVE YEARS of no worries.

I've heard lots of good things about Mirena...for me personally, hormones make me craaaazy and a little unpleasant to be around ;). If they work for you, that's great! I don't think you could go wrong with either choice.

I have Mirena. I recommend it to everyone. yes, the insertion hurts (like the worst period-cramps ever, but then it's over; oh and the first ~30d had like a continuous light-period) and then you don't have to do anything FOR FIVE YEARS. bonus: pretty much no periods FOR FIVE YEARS.

Got my mirena removed recently after being in for less than a year because it moved out of place and was doing me no good wherever it decided to journey to. I didn't love my experience. The insertion was god awful but was probably compounded by the fact that I was still recovering from a c section. But it was like I

I was on the pill for 8 years. I gained weight. I had lower sex drive. I had more frequent yeast infections. And I bled for a week solid.

Do you have parchment paper? Or even foil? Snapper and asparagus together en papillote w/ little oil and maybe some lemon sounds like it wants to happen in your life this evening.

I have a Mirena and it is fabulous. Like you, I used to use Nuva Ring but that shit got way too expensive. I did get some off/on spotting for the first few months (and a lot of spotting the first 6 weeks), which freaked me out, but it's stopped and it's smooth sailing now. No more periods, wahoo!

Paragard is awesome. The insertion was a touch uncomfortable, but not at all close to some of the awful stories I read online. The first 5-6 periods were rough and involved much more cramping than I was used to, but I found that extra strength tylenol did the trick! Ever since then, it's been smooth sailing for me. I

Yeah if they don't do that then the risk of perforating your uterus is huge. It wasn't something I had really thought about either, but it makes sense. And having your uterus sounded it just feels weird. Like I'm trying not to remember right now because it's one of those creepy weird feelings. LOL But then it's done

Proof that every woman is different. I've been on depo for two years and I LOVE it. After a month of minor spotting, I haven't had a single period, I actually lost weight when I started it and I love that if you get it on time it's damn near impossible to screw up.

I have mirena and have never had kids. Bc of this the first 6 mos were he'll, it hurt going in, I had cramps and heavy bleeding. But the last 2 years have been a dream. I have 1 day periods like clockwork, and the most minimal cramping (when ever since I got my period at 12- I'd be out of commission crying the first

I've had both. Paraguard did horrible things to my period. So much bleeding. So so much bleeding. I had it removed and went with Mirena after three years because it was that bad. Mirena does have hormones but it is super low dose because it is delivered directly to the reproductive system. I had originally chosen

I had popcorn and two bowls of cereal for dinner.

Hahahaha you sound just like me. I'll start drinking wine while trying to decide on dinner and then 4 glasses later forgot that dinner was supposed to happen. And then I eat a plate of cheese.

My current dilemma is not really a dilemma in the grand scheme of things. I'm comfy, I'm drinking Bordeaux and watching baseball and hockey in tandem... and I don't want to get up and cook dinner. But I have to use up what I bought (and also, I'm getting hungry).

You might want to consider how you get on at smear tests, and use that as a judgement as well. I am terrible with smear tests, and find the clamp thing extremely painful. One nurse asked me if I was a virgin once. Er....no.

This should suit your needs!
