I’ve found the UV to be easier when trying to spot the origin of the leak.  There are two plastic transfer lines under the intake manifold on my M52 (01 525iT) that had split at the bosses in the block, and I was able to trace the UV track all the way up the side of the block instead of hunting around with all the oil…

My BMW’s coolant shows green, but is the real deal blue stuff.

The reason is UV dye that I keep in the system to check for leaks.  Do a once-a-month sweep with a blacklight makes it super easy to see if any plastic is starting to weep.

The harm can be directly calculated in increased hospital visits for people with cardiovascular/cardiopulminary diseases that are aggravated by particulate and smog-forming emissions. Increase in mortality rate is a measurable quantity in economics.

As a cyclist I use them all the time. My MIL bought me my first one for xmas a few years back. As I opened it she said “in case someone runs you over, we want video evidence for a lawsuit”.
