@BroncoMech: They aren't. They just aren't deemed "proven safe," because unless you test to the (only barely different, not really meaningfully so) US standards, or you can prove (like with actual engineering data) that your vehicle would pass the US tests, your tests don't count.

@CABEZAGRANDE: It has nothing to do with safety, and nothing to do with emissions. It is a non-tariff trade barrier.

I miss Video Games and Computer Entertainment, and Next Generation (before it became IGN). VG&CE because it was a good magazine and Next Generation because they made excellent mouse pads.

If the screen resolution isn't either very goddamn high, or an integer multiple of the lower resolution, then pixel-art games will look worse, all else (contrast, brightness, saturation, whatever else) being equal.

There's been a 3D smartphone (the Lynx from NTT) in Japan using a similar screen for months now.
