I don't understand why this is controversial. I pitched an article on the downside of quitting work to be a stay at home mom and the EIC passed on it without a second thought. It's dangerous for women to do it, just like all the sacrifices that women make for family. Truthfully it's also a danger for men to give up

No one tweets at me that we should bang or makes any comments on my visage whatsoever, I feel cheated.

I think I have this problem. I don't say anything but I'm always mildly horrified. It's mostly because I find pregnancy and childbirth terrifying. Kids are ok, I have nothing against babies in general, just the process

My roommate insists that we drink bottled water...in the big multi gallon containers...because of fluoride. I don't know what to think about it. I'm a little brainwashed into being scared of it.

I feel like a bad person for actively hoping he comes to some kind of harm but I do. I don't really feel like I can count on a wrathful god who metes out afterlife justice.

Agreed on the second point, and the first even. But still it's frustrating to hear so many other reports of criminals...say, violent rapists who get released into society more than once and commit more crimes. No easy answers I guess.

That's a very good point! I hadn't considered that but it would definitely be a danger given reports on the incentives for-profit prisons have for keeping their cells full.

I don't really have any desire to do anything with slaves though forced labor camps are a thing, I guess they don't actually call them slaves.

I did not know that! It all just seems wrong and confusing.

I guess that makes sense technically but it's not very satisfying.

Why? What is the point of people like Ariel Castro? Can't use them as slave labor and can't kill them but we can pay to keep them alive. I nearly agree with you in cases where guilt is not as clear cut...

It disgusts me that taxpayers now get to provide room and board plus medical care for this creep. It just doesn't seem like justice. Granted jail is not a vacation but it beats a firing squad.

oh snap

Yeah let's continue to pretend that people that attack America are all going to be ugly and easily identifiable foreigners. Putting a picture of someone on a magazine cover is not glamorizing them. There's a cognitive dissonance. He's a good looking normal kid who committed these atrocious acts. I look at it and think

The first two perhaps but definitely not the last two. Asshole jerk I'm totally willing to cop to.

Paltrow would be actually pretty spot on...

Honestly when you put it that way I completely agree...yuck. There's no way having a kid is worth that.

Don't worry, you'll stop feeling that way eventually. Life goes on, even over 30...it actually gets better. I mean, what's the alternative...?

Worst of all: ur!

At a certain point in life, humans are responsible for themselves, regardless of whatever they were exposed to. Case in point, people who are molested or abused. They had very poor models to follow yet many, probably most, don't go on to repeat that. Lots of people are able to think critically about their actions and
