10 years ago, local MP on PC was hard to come by but a lot of indies and console ports have changed that.

An Xbox is essentially a PC. The hardware is a modified AMD APU *very* much like you find in a $400 laptop and the operating system is literally a modified version of Windows 10. “The way they made the port” probably didn't take much effort on their behalf and definitely didn't preclude their ability to implement

It's missing not due to any specific limitations but because they chose not to implement it. Why should it be any less feature complete on one platform over another? That's bullshit.

Except there’s not in this case. The Xbox is running an x86 CPU architecture and a modified version of Windows 10 and DX12. The codebase difference between an Xbox One title and a PC title is minimal and much of the additional work that needs to be done is optimisation work to get it running smoothly on different

The game doesn’t need to distinguish it. Xinput takes care of that. There are plenty of local multiplayer games on PC so coding the input is no excuse.

I can see the logic, but I feel there are user stories that justify it.

User Story 1: My friend prefers controller, I prefer mouse and keyboard. On Xbox I can’t use kb+m.

Although I haven’t gone on any recent expletive-filled rants of late (if I had, they would be directed at EA/Dice for Battlefront I/II) - but if you’re a consumer looking for “couch co-op” this is a serious blow. In this case, they functionally removed game functionality by not including split screen when it was

Quick check: Out of my 1400 games, 400 are MP. Out of those, 90 are marked as local coop or split screen.

You can have multiple controllers connected, and used independently. You can also have one person on KB + M, and one person on controller.

They are releasing the games in chronological order, based on when they happen in the Halo Universe timeline.

“Come try our new Improbable Chicken!”

*hold my beer*

“ It has TK players today” What?

I’m 29 and I have a minor cold. I think I’m already done. I can’t go on like this.

On this episode of burying the lede, you didn’t say yes?

What a series of Ups & Downs. Thanks for everything!

You once asked me to marry you after I made a Saves The Day pun. I think of our interaction often and wish you nothing but the best, hope you can Stay What You Are and am sure you will never be Through Being Cool.

I’ve heard there’s a guy in Vancouver who might be able to help you change reality...

Thank you! <3

I always enjoyed your stuff.  You will be missed. Good luck.
