Did Valkyria Chronicls 3 make the list?

I want policenauts.

Why not buy a Japanese copy and then use the emulator to run the ROM?

oh and for a technical one. terranigma/tenshi sozo. funny thing is, a translation exists, it was released in the PAL territories, so all they would have to do is put that in the ntsc Japanese version and boom. long awaited game that some of us really want to play officially.

Valkyria Chronicles 3 would be my first choice for sure. Absolutely the best game in the series. It’ll probably never happen tough :/

It’ll never happen, but I’d love to see a remake of Live A Live for like the DS or something. Great little SNES JRPG that never made it out of Japan (a pretty solid fan translation for emulators has existed for years though), featuring a bunch of self-contained little stories that take place throughout time (the

I don’t understand why it’s written up like they went camping or something. Dave invited Pete to his house which just happens to be out in the woods.

i don’t understand why dave chappelle taking pete davidson into the woods is filed under dirt bag. it actually is really sweet, a dude helping his vulnerable friend who is going through a rough patch. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Important side note: That a work has entered the copyright domain doesn’t necessarily lift any related trademark restrictions. People always miss this. Even if a disney or a warner bros cartoon enters the public domain and you can share and reprint that content to your heart’s desire, the trademark likely limits

You could use the character. The situation you described has actually been the case regarding Sherlock Holmes for quite a while. It’s why you see so many Holmes-based works. Many Holmes stories are in the public domain but some aren’t. Elements of the character introduced in works still under copyright would be off

The variant of banana that was popular in the US at the time was being affected by blight which caused shortages.

A work should enter worldwide public domain 50 years after its first release anywhere. Say you’re a talented young singer and release a huge hit song on your 18th birthday - the residuals from this song would keep you fed up past most countries’ mandatory retirement age even if you never make anything ever again.

I starred your comment because your overall point is correct, but I think it’s very important to point out that U.S. copyright terms are the same length or longer than most other countries’ copyright terms, with only a handful of exceptions (e.g., the perpetual copyright for Peter Pan in the U.K.) that I’m aware of.

Yes! We Have No Bananas

What if I started a project using some of those above listed works today, but didn’t release them until January 1st 2019? Say you are making a movie with a January release date, but are using the assets in production well in advance.

ALSO! Note that terms like “public domain” aren’t global. A work can be “public domain” in one country, but still under copyright under another nation’s laws. So if you publish your Mrs. Dalloway fanfic, you’re clear in the US but readers in other countries might not get to see it. You’ll likely still need permission

This summer, Vin Diesel is Mrs. Dalloway

Great, get ready for a bunch of reboots.

It’s nuts. This is what happens when big companies can push through legislation that’s good for them and bad for the public.

Our copyright laws need to be rewritten so bad. I can’t believe silent movies are just getting into the public domain.
