Same. I would have been happy to pay Nintendo a small amount for the exclusive items as DLC, but I wasn’t going to pay triple or quadruple what they were worth for statues I explicitly did not want.

Valkyria Chronicles II did something similar...not so well...
VC2 also featured rapid vacilliation between ‘cutesy school time hijinks’ and ‘this is a serious drama about racial persecution set in a civil war’. It was also weird how cadets in ostensibly auxilliary role kept getting such serious missions. Like what the Hell was the Army and Militia busy doing?! Man, what a…
No, because it’s still based on individual hero units with stats and abilities, rather than groups of generic units with a commander with special abilities.
I’m not sure I like the art direction of the Link’s Awakening remake. It seems like a cross between the aesthetics of the Secret of Mana remake and Super Mario RPG. I think I need to see more of it in motion, but the art direction of the SoM remake was a big part of my decision to forego it in favor of the original…
Okay, but how about just make a scalable truetype version of the original font and use that? Tons of their old games use unique fonts for different games, including FFIX, and it’s part of the character and aesthetic of the game, so it’s a detail that deserves that extra love in my opinion.
Don’t tease me with extra Vivi content like that!
I mean, I still have issues with that Chrono Trigger release that keep me from buying it, and it’s one of absolute favorite of all time, but it’s a hard pass so long as it’s inferior to the DS version.
Homeworld Remastered managed it, and they actually definitely lost assets. It’s often possible, and not quite as difficult as hardware based aeronautics projects.
It’s just like running the Switch chat app on a phone!
There’s no reason other than pure laziness and cheapness they can’t make a scalable truetype version of the original stylized font.
Good Lord!
Good Lord!
I mean, they STILL haven’t completely fixed Chrono Trigger on PC, either. It still has the ugly Mobile derived UI, distracting persistent lifebars in combat, a generic font instead of a truetype version of the original font, and is missing content from the DS version. The title screen still doesn’t have the same…
So it’s basically like the Mercenaries and Raid modes from other entries in the series, with added psuedo-story elements, exclusively featuring characters that canonically die in the main story? Uh, cool, I guess?
I’m pretty sure it’s not even the worst of the Prequel movies. Remember AOTC?
“Brown ketchup?!”
I’d even settle for good Star Wars films again, at this point...
Okay, but other species would name them something at the very least.
Really, quite a few of the Jedi Council seem like their atypical biologies would make them substandard warriors in physical combat. Yoda and Yaddle are definitely on that list. Hell, even Kit Fisto seems like he’d accidentally cut off a head tail (tentacle?) waving a lightsaber around. And let’s not forget Yarael…
