Well I know I’ve found my line. It’s a shame because I was really excited for Blizcon and shit but the only way businesses are going to learn to not bow to China’s authoritarian whims is if the customer base punishes them greatly for it. Some mouthbreather is probably going to come in to the comments with the tiresome

I think the current psvr will actually be enhanced by the ps5 as it is. We won’t get another psvr model until the following holiday. It’s basically getting a new graphics card for your computer and keeping the same monitor. You may not be able to see it in 4K but you’ll definitely notice a difference.

Sweet! Hoping we hear something soon about if a new PSVR is launching with the system. Only four more generations until our eyeball PS9's

Hilarious you’re calling the Chinese Socialists? Is that a joke? I can’t tell. What do you think that word means?

offends a portion or group of the public,

The amount of harassment the Vic fans gave the victims, their supporters, and Funimation makes this dismissal even better.

If you can see what you’re about to buy, then it actually isn’t a loot box.  Still a microtransaction, but you’re no longer paying money for a roll of the slots.  That’s pretty different.

The union does explicitly ban people from doing non-union jobs, that restriction being a pillar of how they can negotiate rates for their members. You can work any non-union job, but after three SAG jobs, you have to join SAG or be locked out of SAG jobs entirely. Joining SAG restricts you from non-union, as above,

What I was implying (and, in hindsight, should have simply said) is that I feel you were making a broad generalization that non-union voice actors are not serious about their jobs or simply aren’t talented.

Exactly this. A lot of the Borderlands characters were voiced by studio employees, not SAG members. Tales From the Borderlands was SAG. So ultimately combining the two was going to necessitate recasting one way or another.

Something that non-industry people might not know (it’s touched on in article, but I don’t think it’s clear) is that if one actor on a production is union, that ALL have to be. So let’s say that you have nine actors who aren’t union already cast, then you want to get tenth actor who is, you’d have to recast all the

So you’d pass on many of the established non-union voice actors who choose to work in Texas, like Chris Sabat or Colleen Clinkenbeard?

She’s joined every one of their strikes, so much it got her bumped out of Life is Strange, so I doubt that.

Unless the union is on strike or explicitly bans people from doing non-union jobs, Ashley can do whatever she wants. Some people do things because it better represents their group and other need to make a living. Neither is incorrect.

And yet Ashley Burch, who’s in the same union, could do Tina without a problem? Troy is leaving something out here.

While he meant that in jest, it is one of the downsides of the union model. Because they set a floor on costs, you can’t find an “up and comer” that will do the job on the cheap for exposure. If you can’t do it cheaply, then you might as well spend the big dollars for star power and reliable performances.

I can’t find the clip right now, but I saw one time at a Q&A at a Con, someone asked Baker for tips on getting into voice acting.

He gave this whole speech on getting the best microphone you can find, then just constantly practicing through reading books to yourself and recording them and playing them back and things

This is the cringiest thing I have read in the comments, I think I need a shower to wash off the stench of bigoted bullshit that is waffling off of this.

“We should have our own launcher!” is gaming’s version of TV’s “We should TOTALLY set up another streaming service” .

“the story focuses on a female character”
