Well, 18% of all human beings live in China, compared to 4% in the USA. You could ignore the entire world, only pandering to China and become the richest company in the world. See: Tencent and Alibaba.

China: the market everyone wants to get in on no matter what.

Exactly, the movies are getting with the times. Would be cool if they went the AC Odyssey route with a major game like this. Give players a choice.

A female is literally the lead of the entire franchise Mr/Ms. sexist

It’s not even that he’s a white male. He’s so... bland.

Happy to see this. Surprised EA is letting them do a game as a Story, instead of as a Service. Hope the thing will be in third-person. Bring back the former glory of Jedi Outcast. That was where lightsaber fights were done right. Just like Spider-Man harkened back to Spider-Man 2, I hope this brings back Jedi Outcast.

Another white male, no option to play female.

I guess I’ll get it for PS4, then. Not letting that Chinese spyware of a launcher touch my PC.

True, but Epic is spending money in the wrong places.

So you are saying they pushed back the release to April 2020?

The monetization is an issue. That’s the MOST obvious. But there are structural issues that less monetization isn’t going to fix. Even the whales of Artifact wholly agree the game takes too long to play (30-40 minutes at times), and depends far too much on randomization because of the three lane concept.

But it goes beyond the cost of entry and maintaining the game (which are both, honestly, astronomical for what they’re trying to do here, especially in the genre).

Hey, China’s still cool! You pay later! Later!

I always found Ardyn the most fascinating character in FFXV.  I’m glad he’s getting his own chapter because from a game where the story was very meh but the character relationships were top notch, Ardyn stood out as the most interesting from a narrative standpoint because he’s one of the few FF villains whose actions

A new console doesnt and essentially never has cost $700.

Corporations want this.  Or at least they think they do, which is the same thing when you have billions of dollars.

This story seriously needs more media coverage. Epic is super shady about it and needs to be confronted on this issue.

Now playing

there was a youtube video by YongYea about Epic mining your Steam acct for data, and some higher ups jumped in on a Reddit post. Made me extremely hesitant to even consider D/L’ing and using Epic’s client. Might be worth checking out the reddit threads and youtube video if you are so inclined.

Unless we have a major internet infrastructure overhaul in the United States within the next decade, this is dead in the water.

I expect to see support for a couple years then trail off, like most of their little pet projects.
