@EmilyBat: My mom resisted for years, saying that they were crap, and let's bake for real! (which we did). When she finally caved, and I admitted that she was right that it was lame, she said that made the $40 they spent on the thing well worth it.

I have no idea what my grandmothers were up to in the bedroom, but there are a lot of feisty women in my family tree:

I had similarly awful cramps. Sometimes they were so awful I'd have to leave school "sick." When I was 19, after a frightening incident when a combo of cramps, fever (as was common), and disorientation almost led to more serious injuries, I saw a doc and got on the pill, and now my period has gone from major problem…

@JustinVarro: Yes!! I found that out the hard way, years ago. I'm never going near astroglide again.

@hortense: it varies state to state, but they may be unable to do that because of his age. Infancy (i.e., being under 18, or the age of majority) prevents prosecution for even the most heinous crimes, and these are pretty damn heinous.
