I think the idea is really good, but I agree that how they got the material is unethical.

I've never thought of this before...
While I don't know about this particular woman's situation or about her family, I think... If they were willing to do that, I imagine they'd have done it a long time ago. Usually the whole family is complicit in the conspiracy of silence. Even parents & siblings who also experienced abuse may, in later years, deny…
No one today, but it is a phrase used a lot in politics/news. "Women and minorities".
I love how saying "it's not the same thing" means you're racist.

Other ladies in tech: if you think your sex might impact your career, of course it will if you have that attitude!
Now, that's funny, because I've heard complaints that that's rude (the asking) because it is usually directed toward people who are "brown looking" or "have funny names" and is all wrapped up in the icky idea that the default person is a white man with an anglo name.
I'm not saying I don't understand where you're coming from. I've said the same thing.

We can loop back to my other post on this :-)
I was wondering about that too, just the other day.
Not that it's at all right that this is the status quo. But this is a great way to change it. More diversity now, showing us our common humanity, and expanding the types of perspectives we see on TV.
Case 1: In trouble with the law.
Exactly. It's still anecdotal, but can you really blame anyone for not trusting IUDs? I've never heard that many horror stories about condoms.
I get that. In my opinion most people are making gut assessments based on emotional triggers. However, I think that rational assessment of each case (this time) actually matches the prevailing public reaction.
Maybe because the court of public opinion is stupid and potentially wrong?
