It just lacks any interesting art direction to make up for the WiiU’s performance limitations compared to the other consoles. Mario Kart 8 though, had no such problem.

I would just look at it the same way I look at the MCU. It’s an alternate universe seperate from the regular continuity. So the movie makers can make as many changes necessary just as long as they keep the essence of the story intact.

I really hope there's a way to disable motion control. Nintendo is just way too obsessed with gimmicks. One of the things that makes Mario Kart 8 great is that it doesn't rely on tricks - it's just a solid game. Make a good game, and utilize the tools needed, rather than create a tool and then plan a game around it.
