Not that this truck isn’t cool and awesome and wonderful in every way, but why the heck does a semi truck need to do 0-60 in 5 seconds? Isn’t that going to jostle the cargo around an awful lot? Why not put that energy to better use by extending the range and going 0-60 in, say, 10 seconds?

I care more about its braking/deceleration performance, being an extremely large and heavy vehicle, than I do it’s acceleration numbers. I hope that the electric motors with mechanical brakes will mean better performance than engine braking on current diesel trucks?

Vette should get the performance hybrid model of drivetrain. Use the E-motors for extra acceleration and regen braking. Use the V8 to keep the juice flowing.

The problem with “Founder” types is that they just can’t bring themselves to do the smart thing when their personal opinions run unnecessarily afoul of public opinion.

And that’s exactly the problem. Tesla is their own standard. Finding J1772 chargers in many areas is extremely difficult. Yes, they exist, but not in the masses that Europe has — then again, we’re covering a lot more landmass than Europe is.
