I disagree with the Rolls Royce and Citroen SM. Far too expensive to maintain in good working order, and not cheap enough to buy in the first place.

How did that 107 end up in DC?

for all those lamenting the 335d: the new 4cylinder in the 328i has made the diesel unnecessary in the lineup as far as MPG goes. that engine also makes the hybrid unnecessary as well.

It is very expensive to develop an automotive chassis these days. To manage the costs, manufacturers have to create new model lines.
