Fun bit of trivia in these clips: Wisconsonite Greaves is piloting a modern California-built truck out of the Huseman fab shop with the aforementioned Toyota house motor, while native Californian Renezeder is driving the famous Flannery PRO4 (originally built in the ‘90s) with a Danny Shlieper ProPower mill under the

Factory Toyota PRO4, as demonstrated by the late great Rick Huseman doing what it did best; screaming bloody murder.

Basically a NASCAR Truck series motor with all the NASCAR bullshit ripped off & exhaling through an 8-into-1 collector

Yep. Most high-end sandrails are built for the sheer sole purpose of answering the question “how much power can you put into a dune buggy and maybe not die?”

Can I just say the most impressive things about this to me is a) the game didn’t crash (or even begin to lag!) while trying to compute what must be an infinite amount of an infinite amount of things infinitely, and b) the system the game is being played on didn’t crash, for the same reason?

I mean, visual 3D modeling

Leave it to Fox to nerf one of the biggest motorsports events of the year with who-gives-a-fuckball.

As a massive motorhead and avid simracer, there’s often times where I look at all the racing games on my PC and feel compelled to go drive something, but not in a competitive environment like a racetrack. Playing something like Grand Theft Auto like a normal person rather than a homicidal criminal gets old fairly

Only competed twice in this form that I’m aware of, at the ‘85 and ‘86 Coors Light Hales Open shows at the now former Hales Corners Speedway in Franklin, Wisconsin.

Would have to be Bill “The Franklin Flyer” Prietzel’s fully restored 1985 Bullitt by Tomczak “Red Wedge” Open Comp dirt late model. A byproduct of short track racing’s “wedge car” era of the ‘70s and ‘80s, reassembled by the man himself using all the car’s original spare parts & handpainted Billy Hoffman bodywork.

Just your friendly neighborhood nerf...

Oh you’ve got me wrong dude...I’m totally fine with LCD dashboards (although given the choice, I’d prefer good ol’ analog gauges), what I’m saying is LCD or not, I’d still want all of my pertinent information displayed in an analog form, be it a round needle gauge or a bar graph, simply because I don’t need to be

No, but stuff like oil/water temperature, oil pressure, etc. etc. are kinda important...

Thing is, you can’t see a number in your peripheral vision; it’s always just a jumbled mass of characters unless you take your eyes off the road (or track) and actively look at them. With analog gauges (real or otherwise), as long as you’re familiar with the dashboard you only need to see which direction the needle’s

“A watch! Now if anybody asks you the time, you’ll be able to answer! How ‘bout that?”

It’s available on Great Old Games (http://www.gog.com/game/megarace_…). I have it, but it’s been a few years and several computer parts since I tried it. I’ve had pretty good luck with GOG’s re-tooled titles, but there’s always a chance it won’t agree with your modern system.

I still have my “Second Pair of Arms” lying around here somewhere...

OH MY GOD YES.

Also, speaking of offroad racing being dangerous when you’re out of the car, spare a thought for the late Monty Droogsma, tragically taken while trying to dig the Mango Racing truck out of the silt at this year’s SCORE Baja 1000.

I think I’d be more apt to install hook points around the frame to redirect the winch line around the rig for the same purpose.

Ah I wish. Alas, I’ll be here in cold, crappy Wisconsin watching the Hammertown broadcast stream on my PC & continuing to daydream about moving to offroad country.
