This'll make you feel better.

Also, R.I.P. Rick

The #47 number plate tells me that's one of the Jenkins brother's trucks, can't recall if it's Mike or Mark offhand. But either way, with how those two "drive" they'd need a talented welder on their team

I say blow the wad & get yourself a BuckShot.

Then again I say a lot of things like this when it's not my money

Terracross Championship from San Diego County Fair (the famed "Del Mar Tuff Trucks")
Walker Evans Arena Challenge
Sunday afternoon, CBS Sports Network (as "Auto Racing")

Myself and my Old Man (a GLADLY retired GM service tech of 30+ years) were poking around underneath the front of my Wisconsin-lived '98 Chevrolet S10 2WD pickup awhile back while waiting for the old motor oil to finish dripping out of the 2.2L's drain plug and I got curious about the front brake lines. Each line

Only racetrack on Earth that I will celebrate seeing its closure to make way for a housing development or mall.

Nah, the two are separate. I believe Oovee built SPiNTiRES mostly from scratch, doing all their own physics & gameplay coding.

My understanding is that BeamNG is a polished-up version of Rigs of Rods that's been switched from OGRE to (I think) CryEngine. So basically they're taking RoR, probably the most moddable

In addition to the "truck of Texas", the "car of Texas" could very easily also be a truck. Because Texas.

Pontiac Fiero, my first car.

Does the Banks Power Sidewinder Dakota saltflat racer count, since it's its own tow vehicle?

Mr. #fuknawsm himself, "Ballistic" B.J. Baldwin (of the Monster Energy "RECOIL" video) is also known to put up impromptu "like this status" contests for rides in Fedor and Rampage on race weekends. And he's just fun to follow on Facebook anyway

Nitrous backfire? I won't claim to be an expert on drag racing, but what I have seen looked similar to that.

Not sure if this was a Qualifying session or not. If so, guys will usually shut it down as soon as something feels "off"; in qualifying you're racing the clock, not the other car. No reason to keep going if the pass is anything less than perfect.

I'm going to see if I can bring them into my CAD software...put big monster truck tires on them, missile launchers, jet engines, ricer wings. Honda may regret this...

Mixing up "Short Course" and "Trophy Truck" = nails on a chalkboard for offroad racing fans.

Either autocross or open track night at the local dragstrip. Took my bone-stock '98 Chevy S10 daily pickup with a 2.2L under the hood (which at the time I didn't know was sucking air through a mouse nest) and a broken catalytic converter (which I did know about...kinda hard to miss all the rattling) to open night at

Marathon stages are nothing new, matter of fact I think they used to have them for all 3 classes. I don't think there's much rhyme or reason behind when & where they are in the rally, they're just there to turn up the whole "you versus the world" idea that Dakar symbolizes.

From all accounts I've heard he kinda is, but 80-90% of the time he has every right to be. Plus a lot of his reputation comes from his time in NASCAR, which, honestly, I don't think he ever put any real effort in. I imagine NASCAR was just a cash cow: he could make WAY more in sponsor money finishing dead-last at

I think it's just a holdover due to the prestige and history of the race. Even if the location's changed, everyone still associates it as "The Dakar", at this point it's become less of a description and more of a title.

The Dakar did used to run from France/Spain to Dakar, Africa, but the political situation just got

A lot. But they're designed to be destroyed. Hubs, axles, drivelines, brake lines, steering linkage, shock mounts...all designed to be easily serviceable & replaceable. The only solid part surrounds the driver and powertrain
