This sounds like an argument that applies to overall pricing, not sale pricing. Even physical stores have the concept of a ‘loss leader’, which is really just something sold very cheaply in order to gain some other benefit.

And that’s... bad?
That has not been my experience.
That’s not what happens. The sales are limited time, and you don’t exhaust all the people who might want to play the game at some point with one sale. It’s not like everyone in the world will hear about it and buy it, so you have no more potential customers. What does happen is that you get tons of sales, mostly from…
This is far more similar to when steam first started experimenting with sales years ago, which as I recall started with Left 4 Dead. It sold way more copies and made more money during a sale at around the 6 month mark than it had in all the time since launch combined. Prior to this, sales for video games were reserved…
One obvious possibility is that the standard of evidence is significantly lower in a civil trial. As you’re probably aware, the standard of evidence is a criminal case is “proof beyond a reasonable doubt.” This means that if you can think of an innocent explanation for the evidence presented, even if it’s relatively…
I think the key here is the word “just”. If she’s “just” another woman out for cash, that implies that no actual crime occurred. I.e., there was no rape, she’s making up the accusation to get paid.
Oh wow, you really showed her. That’s a great point you made there. Truly, it’s word counting and not actual context that determines such things.
Sure, he may say that, but can we really know what’s in his heart?
I’m not going to lie. No way would I try to protest in this fashion if it might cost me $50,000. Not for this cause, anyway. So, good on him, that takes some grit.
This is due in large part to the laws being written to address pachinko, card games and so forth. I suspect that video games were lumped in with pachinko machines legally once they became ubiquitous.
That would make it a very costly reference then, in that if you weren’t in on it, it makes your show seem to take a narrative nosedive.
Though, it’s just my opinion. Plenty of people disagree. On balance though, I still think it was worth my time.
I agree. That said, I don’t regret watching it. There was some nice value in the first half to three-quarters.
That was what I found so odd about watching it. I was expecting a ton of fan-service, but when I actually watched it, I felt that the show almost never used titillating content for its own sake. It was always to make some point about the characters, or the setting, or human sexuality, or puberty. I went in expecting…
These mechs skate, if by skate you mean slide along the ground.
I envy you. I gave the show a try when I kept reading how it was actually not the hyper-sexualized anime schlock it seemed to be... and it wasn’t. I was surprised at how thoughtful it actually was at times. Then you get to the last fourth, and the show pulls the ol’ ‘villain switcharoo’ on you. Unfortunately, the…
Oh I know. :) Even if it were piss-poor I’d probably buy it for that reason alone.
I mean, that’s what I’m saying, doesn’t seem likely. On the other hand, I’ve seen enough “impossible” things happen in the industry in the last ten years to never say never. Maybe someday...
I wouldn’t say I’m totally sold, but when am I ever going to get another Armored Core game?
