Speaking as a former conservative, many people will never actually see nor hear that the video was doctored. It’s surprising how insulated from damaging information you can become if all your news comes from one side of the aisle.

Unfortunately, study after study has shown that it doesn’t even achieve its stated aims. In some cases, it has the exact opposite effect it was supposed to have.
