Aki was very different than what I expected. I thought that the retro stores would be like, the size of a large Gamestop here in the US, but, Japan. Even the very famous stores are quite small. I also expected the selections to be far more comprehensive, but the actual experience of trying to close out my buy list…

I ended up buying a massive duffel for $8 and throwing all of my clothing and toiletries in it, then carefully packing 110 volumes of manga, two Super Famicoms, 30 games, and a Framemesiter into my suitcase and carry-on.

Book Off (as a whole) was hands-down my favorite store I visited during my time in Japan. I did find several titles at good prices in other locations, I was just pissed that the Akihabara location was too lazy to price their Super Famicom games appropriately.
