Don't think of it as someone pushing both pedals. Think of it as the accelerator pedal being stuck on, or the computer glitching and thinking that you have the gas pedal pressed when you really don't. Pushing the brake would tell the computer to "turn off" any accelerator pedal signal and only use the brake.
