It could also have to do with the purity of the Rooto used (~ 93.4 % H2SO4). Either way, distillation is pretty much the only way to distill already made HNO3. You can use drying agents during distillation to make this even more concentrated than the ~ 70% you get from typical distillation. Or just buy 70 % HNO3 from h

I agree with dawgs12. As a 3rd-year PhD student myself (in chemistry), I write out dozens of reaction mechanisms, notes on experimental procedures, etc. Paper is the only way for me to efficiently take notes (especially with a pair of soiled gloves on). My method has been to take these notes on loose sheets of paper

Case Logic also makes a fairly low-profile hard case for portable HDDs. The elastic helps keep it from jostling around, unlike the soft, neoprene models. I've been using mine daily for a few years now and it works great.

I just snickered with the same volume as a "lol." Classic!

I've been doing this for a while now. Works great - especially with words I'm particular about, like "e-mail" and that often absent hyphen. Drives me nuts.

I wouldn't mind seeing an example either...

Love the MALM desk with pull-out panel; I have the exact same one. Even built a simple, elegant hutch for it with an Ekby Jarpen 46" wall shelf (same birch veneer) and a set of Capita 4" legs.

Hi Holly. Thanks for taking the time! I do have a particular question. Right now I'm a grad student in chemistry, so my loans are being deferred currently. However, in a couple years I will be pursuing a postdoctoral position at a university (fingers crossed). I read some loans can be deferred throughout a postdoc, as

My friend sold his and his wife's iPhone 4 prior to the iPhone 5 release and bought cheap GoPhones for the meanwhile. A little drastic, but good to sell before the release. lol.

Where's her backup drive? lol

lol

Wow, what do you do for a living? I hope to God that I never work for such a strict employer...

Good idea. I typically hold up the frame (with a level on top) backwards to point the frame holes toward me and place a pencil mark over each one.

I do! :)

Very disappointed in the lack of recognition for Alfred. As an avid user, I must say it is indispensable.

Ah, my bad, didn't see that. Hydrogen peroxide is still a more effective method to removing blood.

Hydrogen peroxide is the key active ingredient in color-safe bleaches. So unless you're using 6% or 30% H2O2 for stain purposes (both of which are too strong), it will be fine.

I think blood is a little more common than some of these and it's not even listed. Hydrogen peroxide and a little detergent gets it out well though. Just rub hydrogen peroxide into the blood stain until it stops fizzing, rub a little detergent on and let sit for 5 minutes, then throw in the wash.

How is AT&T $120 more for a 2-year contract than Sprint, when Sprint is $5 more per month?...
