I would expect something like this from the guys at Penny Arcade. It looks great and I'm sure it's a blast to play. Hope it's around 10 bucks when it drops.

@Mark 2000: I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought that...but not being close to the details I have a hunch that it could easily be a sad sad mistake. And either way I'd say the blame lays with the now former parents.

@Kenshi_Ryden: yeah, I picked that up to. From the subtle body language, and I even noticed the lazy slang like when the kids say "waiy" instead of "wee" (and yes I know I'm butchering the spelling but it's easier said than spelt in my case since I'm far from a native speaker.)

@jayntampa: I had a similar conversation with Stephen Totilo about the lead sentence. He changed it and even now I feel a little bad for him. Your point is that women have been serving in warzones for longer than ten years. That is true on it's face as a fact. The context I think you are missing is the same

@Rachel Fogg: I wish there was an iphone app or stand alone kotaku widget what would tell me when people like you post on kotaku/gawker blogs. You're threads/comments always make my day ^_^

@Veit: I may just have to pick that up....

@Boom-Chicka-Ah: Here to Create a Star Commenter Empire: That's actually a pretty good idea. If there must be multi-player or split-player (think DMC 4) I hope each character gets their own unique upgrade trees and special duo co-op moves to. I'm sure this game will rock considering the bar Rocksteady set with

@Pheermee: I wasn't talking about her tail silly bunny ^_^ but cat ears are always welcome (I think I can speak for all of Kotaku on this one)

@GeneralBattuta: That is quite true, and within games I'm surprised this jump (aside from some of the models in Quake 3 Arena) hasn't been widely adopted. Because honestly, within a game if the devs just reskinned and revoiced the pre-existing models as with female attributes that's still a step towards progress.

@Stephen Totilo: Oh I know. But that's the difference between what is "intended" and what actually happens. The problem with integrating female troops in a "realistic" combat game like the modern warfare series has to do with intention.

@GeneralBattuta: within the context of the article I don't think combat pilots would require a skeletal remodeling when you call in an airstrike. (who's to say those virtual pilots aren't female? ^_^ )

"Women have been serving admirably in combat in the U.S. military for about a decade."

@Pheermee: that'll tide me over for now, but I want to see some tail ^_^

@WiggyDee: I too have swung over the bar and do not exist....

@pidgeo5: who's to say it isn't.... (as mine stares it me from the closet)

am I a horrible person for at first thinking the girl on the box was Katie Couric?

@Pheermee: I care to see pics and I was going to dress up for my opening day show too..,now I'm glad I didn't. I had about the same feelings as you. I enjoyed it but I think I would have liked it more if I hadn't read the books and was about 12 years younger.

@NexusSIX: Drake is BaaAAaaack!: yeah impatient gamers are one of my peeves. Gamers that see games just as games and nothing more because they are too shallow to take a deeper meaning from anything bother me. Same complaint with films which is why I think so much drivel is released... Just because it sells doesn't

@Female Orca: Somedays I feel like that too. Kudos Mo'nique, I too want to "slap a bitch."
