The cost of a quality reusable air filter can be fest by comparing it how many cheap air filters it replaces. Those of us in the desert can usually see a positive pay out in 1-2 years if we go off road a few times. 

I also realize the 22RE would probably still be chugging even if it had no air filter at all.

So if one K&N gets me 4 more HP, I could stack up 10 and get 40 more HP? 

First gen (‘01-’07) had a live axle rear suspension, but the newer ones are all IRS - that’s usually enough to turn off a lot of the offroad and expedition style crowd, regardless of whether or not it’s a rational justification.

Maybe 6 months ago but the market went full on crazy on these over the summer. Anything under $12k has nearly 200k miles on the clock and anything with under 150k miles is quickly approaching $17k+!
