Tipping is *supposed to be* an extra thank-you for good, personal service. Not an expectation.

We do tip with good service. But we expect people to get a normal living wage. America is 1 of the , if not the only country i have ever seen with a mandetory tip culture.
Just pay your service workers a living wage. Hell, my daughter - age 19 - works as a hostess at a nice restaurant in Vancouver. She makes $20/hr and gets a small cut of the tip-out. Yes, Vancouver is exceedingly expensive to live in. But she and her roommate make it work. Decent wages make a difference.
I wish more Americans would stop conforming to the “tipping customs of the US”. They’re not customs, they’ve become a scourge. There’s a cab and there’s a cab fare. WTF is the tip for? Driver actually breathing? What’s next, tipping your cashier at Walmart? You wanna put a surcharge, put a surcharge, but fuck this…
Remember when Barsanti's stupidity was confined to weekends?
Did you miss the bit of dialogue where OB states if they reboot the system, it will shut off the thingy that stops magic from working in the TVA? Both Loki and Sylvie shout “DO IT!” when they hear that.
Kotaku would like you to know there is a new Spider-Man game out.
In most cases, yeah. In Rowling’s case, though, there’s nothing left to respond to EXCEPT transphobia. She’s made it into her entire personality. This year we saw a new Harry Potter video game, a new novel by Rowling, and the announcement of a Harry Potter reboot series, and Rowling has barely mentioned any of those…
Conservatives want so badly to feel oppressed. It’s wild. It’s not illegal for JKR to be a bigot, she’s just an asshole. She isn’t going to jail over it and she won’t lose her castle money, she’s just going to alienate her youth fanbase who mostly agree she’s an asshole.
the thing is, she’s weirdly fixated on trans women. so yeh, i do think that anyone who supports her at this point is wholeheartedly buying into her stupid stupid opinions.
JK Rowling has made this her primary cause for a few years now. It’s not just a shitty opinion she has tucked deep away in a single tweet from seven years ago, it’s the main thing she talks about in public and it’s wormed its way into her most recent works. Liking her in 2023 pretty much requires taking this shit on…
Let’s be clear here: she has openly and unequivocally stated that she considers people buying her merchandise to be tacit support for her beliefs. This isn’t a matter of “this person might be a racist and a transphobe, but I can separate the art from the artist,” it’s straight-up her saying that when you buy her…
Generally agree with that, but: when a celebrity is seemingly intent on boiling down their public persona to their stance on a particular hot-button issue, past a certain point it is exactly that simple. JK hasn't been able to shut up about this for years now and is increasingly determined to paint herself as the last…
What an unbelievable piece of shit.
Graham Linehan will demand to be crucified first to be a bigger martyr to this dipshit cause.
You mean you honestly think the asshat whose sub-zero situational awareness and complete lack of respect for basic physics (or decency, for that matter) made him overcook the turn and jump the curb would have somehow mustered the wherewithal to bring his 2 tons of front heavy hunk of metal to a controlled stop on a…
Scuderia Filipinetti
That is a total mischaracterization of what she did. She condemned killing of innocents by anyone. How on earth is that a controversial take?
No one said he is “incommunicative.” The quote, which is right in the article you wrote refers to him being “as incommunicative as he is,” which means something very different.
46-year-long running show... So, by your logic, Richard Hammond was hosting it when he was 7 years old? Hammond, Clarkson, and May were not the ones who “Originally hosted” it.
