I swear this has gotten much, much worse in the last few years. I have some from 2006 that definitely smoothed and lightened skin tones but left the eyes alone. I have some from earlier this year that make me look like I'm a transvestite...

UK licence holders can just take an eye test, provide a translated copy of their licence and pay the fee to get their Japanese licence. I've heard so many Americans who've really struggled with the Japanese test. I much prefer our arrangement.
