I am both a huge Whedon fan and a huge Coen Bros fan (Actually, bigger Coen Bros fan than Whedon, because I think they are truly astounding filmmakers while he is a unique creator with some quite notable flaws), and I have to say, when the brothers try too hard their dialogue is legitimately too much in my mind. Heh, I had the same reaction. I wonder, tho', if she's avoiding talking about that because the topic has gotten her in trouble before, and she has been coached to stay the hell away from the subject of snow.

I find the statement about Katherine Hepburn also fascinating, because from what I read, (Several smaller things, but including several parts of "Pictures at a Revolution", an incredible book) Kate Hepburn talked big and gave an aura of a strong, intelligent woman, but was quite truly almost subservient to Tracy

This is fascinating. You woke up at 4:30 and write straight through 9:00 (Perhaps beyond!) to keep this conversation going, despite the fact that you're not even beginning to respond to other people's arguments, and just repeat the same thing over and over and over and over.

I believe it was beautifully made, well acted, and is rather overrated. The dialogue is all one-tone, smart and snappy, yes, but lacks depth. It would be nice if Larry Summers didn't talk in the same cadance as a bunch of Harvard wizz kids. Women don't exist except as too-wize-greek-choruses or psycho girlfriends. Eh.

Agreed - I read the comment one way, and overreacted to it.

An excellent point, thank you!

Oh! per Meremaid below, she's very right, and I seriously apologize if I completely misread your comment.

What?!?! Where does this post even begin to say "Monogamy is impossible"?! The author makes it blazingly clear that that Monogamy does not work for HER. It is not a "Humans aren't monogamous" piece, it is a "Humans have different relationship tendencies" piece.

Hmmm, but I don't see Albright as a full character - just as Rashida Jones' is also just a cutout. They're mouthpieces holding up the Bookends of the movie, drawing the frame. Erica is there to tell Mark Z what a douche he is being, and how alone he will be. Lawyer woman is there to tell him that every story needs a

Ah, but there it is... where ever out there is Kesha screaming "I'm Different I'm Different"? She has never painted herself as more than a performer, or a pop star. Nothing about this viewpoint is reflected in how she represents herself.

Pink stopped being redonkulous? *watches her newest videos*

Very well and fascinatingly said!

DAMN woman. Some of us enjoy Ke$ha. It's not okay to slam Lohan, Britney, or Gaga, but you can write this deeply offensive bit of nastiness?

Thank you! I'm so sick of this! Why does Jezebel go after Kesha so completely and worship Gaga? I also like both, and I also see damn minor differences.

Oh? Everything I've heard has it that she is correct. If she's wrong - and of course she might be - can we get your response in verifiable numbers and stats, not being insulting? (Your accusing her of fangirlism is highly amusing, since you're being so vehemently Anti- without going in to details)

I agree with this list, and I actually am puzzled why so many people think it's so 'anti-Jezebel' - I feel quite strongly it is very Jezebel.

@AthertonMerriweather: Oh, stop it. (BTW, I adore your comments, and that is said in a playful voice) it's just a list of things to think about, and Jezebel has always had this sort of stuff on here.
