I have always thought that if someone could not understand the importancy of this episode (or DS9 in all when you look at it) didn't actually understood Star Trek, the core of it. And creators of STID are probably those kind of people. They can all try to justify it with "oh, but the studio wanted this, blah, blah".

I was thinking about this sort of thing just this week. I went on a field trip to an amazing vfx/special effects house, that had literally hundreds of maquettes and models from 20+ years of amazing movies. A lot of my classmates spent the trip taking pictures of literally everything, but I deliberately didn't, even

I think you could make a good survival horror game based on WWI without including any supernatural elements.

Failing that, a Blackadder Goes Forth game:

The WWI game I want to play is designed like a survival horror. I want it to be bloody, sad and painful.

I loved Schindler's List when I saw it in the theater in the afternoon, and I felt that I was in a time warp because when it ended, I was convinced it couldn't possibly be over. Everyone was talking about how long it was, but it seemed short. Then I exited the theater and it was dark outside

For your consideration, David Bowie in The Man Who Fell To Earth.

Well said sir.

I personally stick to Ebert's adage: "No good movie is too long, and no bad movie is too short."

"So...I lied. I cheated. I bribed men to cover the crimes of other men. I am an accessory to murder. But the most damning thing of all... I think I can live with it. And if I had to do it all over again, I would. Garak was right about one thing - a guilty conscience is a small price to pay for the safety of the Alpha

  1. Space: Above and Beyond: Who Monitors the Birds - I think the dialogue for this episode fits on two sides of a single A4 sheet of paper. This is the finest example of Glen Morgan and James Wong's writing and plans for SAaB, how the panned to take it into a war drama like Gallipoli or All Quiet on the Western Front. My

Cowboy Bebop, "The Real Folk Blues Part 2." There are some many episodes to choose from, but the ending gets me every time..

Nazi's—BAD BAD BAD. I know. But darn they make cool uniforms. Check out those leather jackets. Bad!

We're working on the next version now: it will be the size of a small moon and able to destroy whole planets, mein Fuhrer.
