This man is Hans Mezger. Sometimes you hear Porsche afficionados talk about a 'Mezger engine' - this refers to the water-cooled flat six that started in the 1990s Porsche GT1 Le Mans prototypes and then was adapted into the 911 GT3 road cars, up until the current 991 generation. Truth is, that was pretty much the last…
A Mercedes that competes against Hondas and Toyotas. Is it still luxury if everyone can afford it?
The voice over script didn't really have much to do with the car and Maserati in general, but good lord, that sound! Usually car makers will just pipe over some vacuum cleaner noise, but Maserati captured it perfectly. Gave me goosebumps.
They called it the "eternal flame." I call the one one front of my '95 Miata the "eternal toilet bowl."
What!? The GP course has a lot of character! Very nice flow to it.
Nobody has mentioned the Mezger Flat-6? Originally developed in the mid 90's for Porsche's 911 GT1, it eventually found its way into the first 996 GT3, and subsequently any 911 with "GT" in the name (as well as a few Turbos), before it was finally retired for road use after the RS 4.0, which some hail as the best…
Yeah, true. P1 in the U.S was awesome until Audi decided they'd just do Sebring, then it got stale. If they could do P1 properly again, it'd be worth it.
Top Gear has never really been the type of show to do reviews on cars the moment after they come out. They take their time, do it thoroughly and have a production spec car (usually) all to themselves on their track, rather than the prototype press cars the majority of other publications enjoy getting their hands on at…
Yeah Grand-Am was really only interesting if you were at the race, as they also had the Continental Tire Series races, and a bunch of other cool races in conjunction with the weekends, but ALMS was where it was at. To me, this new series is just a watered down ALMS.
The Wayne Taylor Racing team, consisting of family patriarch and namesake Wayne Taylor, sons Ricky and Jordan, family friend and business partner Max Angelelli, and Jordan's gorgeous flowing mane, finished in second overall. Amazingly, they only lost by two seconds.
Pretty sure that's a lambo.
Some teams have spotters in this series as well. You'll see them with sun shades and walkie talkies at locations around the track occasionally.
I love the laughter that noise creates. Rallying a GT3 is at the very top of my list of things to do before I die.

I'm going to pick on the Camry a little bit more because even Toyota knows that the current design isn't "emotional" or whatever. So what kind of emotions do you hope to stir in the next Camry buyer? Because certainly no strong emotions are coming from a vanilla purchase like a Camry.
It is way too big, and not only is it huge, the design does nothing to hide it. Instead it emphasizes it with grotesque bulges randomly placed throughout the car. Some of it is curvy, some of it is boxy, and none of it fits. The C pillar kink is especially bad, and not coherent at all. The front end is fat, the rear…
I agree with everything, but I'm sorry... The new STI is a total fail.
No!!! Blasphemy. There is only one Italian job and it is from 1969.
