Yup, illegal in some states to. If a death results of it, I believe you can be charged with manslaughter. At least some legislators feel our pain!

I honestly didn't know about this Lada, but am not surprised, but it is a pretty cool story!

Still looks like, well- an anus.

Yes, thank God for that, because the regular version is even worse!

Believe it or not, Porsche did, and does, A LOT of engineering for many other companies.

Just saw this on a Top Gear episode.

The 5.5 liter version got brought onto the road in 2004, sorta-kinda making the run between the two most prestigious race series there are.

Looks a bit like an STI and Corolla had a spawn, then some bloke fitted a compressed air hose beneath the bodywork and went to town.

Yup, in that sense I guess you are 100% correct. I haven't even seen Porsche use the car in any video clip or article related to their P1 car, but they constantly reference the 917, 936, 956 etc.

Huh? These cars were definitely NOT forgotten! In the ALMS they competed head to head with the R8's and R10 TDI's (LMP1 cars), even claiming the overall championship one year ('07: They won 11/12 races in class, and 8/12 overall). Also, they were great in Europe at Le Mans. This car was so good, in 2008 a regulation

Now playing

In this video, Porsche does cold weather testing (-40F) on the 991, and they would pour boiling water over the headlights every night to assure they wouldn't crack. Also, the transmission fluid for the new 7spd manual froze at one point in the final testing stages, so they had to develop some sort of system to remedy

Totally agree (also note my Best Motoring inspired username)! And I like how the GT-R was the "camera car" all of the sudden when it was in last, but all of the sudden at the end, it was like he had a shot of nitrous. Not much a suprise win though as he had the fastest TA by far, but that finish was insane! A drifting

Very convenient how in the drag races the Japanese cars always seem to be positioned further up the start line, and always depart earlier...

There is an illegal one about in PA with no registration, inspection, or tags. :-)

Chrysler is still an American company. Do you really think the Grand Caravan is Italian, and the Aventador is German?

The night I want to rest early Jalopnik posts 17 rally videos. Thanks!

Nice saves are always applauded, and when a car becomes stuck or rolls over, people, and usually a large crowd, always rush over to help. God I love rallying!

They cite "top level" rallying though. There are currently GT3 and F430 rally cars as well.

Didn't look like he actually went over top of the car.

The straight pipes and stupid over dubbed music ruined it for me.
