I very much agree with you, especially Steph.

Would love to hear what Steph or Dray has to say about this.

I’ve gotten hit by one of these skimmers. My credit card company noticed the charges right away and dealt with it. Got a new card, which was the only inconvenience. I’ve told the gas station workers that I go to that their stickers were broken, but they still haven’t fixed it.

Sweet Chili is the best.

Best sauce is not the Sweet and Sour. It is the Sweet Chilli.

Yeah, I’m not watch the World Series. From the Bay Area. No Giants in the World Series? Not worth watching. And it’s the Warriors’ opening night!

I’ve thought about this idea before. I feel that if everyone knew what it would be like to ride, drivers would at least be more empathetic to the rider. And if they start riding, bonus. Before I started riding, I never thought about what a rider goes through. Now, I can put myself in the riders’ shoes.

The links for SBNation and Sports Illustrated both point to SBNation.

I’ll give you the HD coverage, but nothing replaces the sounds these vehicles make.

Great article. Whenever people ask me what testing is like, I just say it’s exactly like Grandma’s Boy. I’d rather not have to sit there and explain what my job actually entails.

It seems kinda sad to get rid of it. California riding, when not in traffic, is amazing. And that bike out here would rock.

I was really hoping Lanesplitter would be my go to site after Wes Siler left RideApart for Gawker Media. Good to see you guys concentrating on substance and not on access and flash.

I’ve been on a game that had automation. A QA engineer usually takes care of writing the automated testing. It’s actually pretty impressive what can be tested. Everytime a new build is put out, the system automatically smokes it for errors. This can involve moving the camera, moving the characters, buying things, etc.

A lot of times, testers are put on the game once a big chunk of it is made. You’re not going to be able to tell the dev team this sucks, do it over because too much time has been put into what’s already there.

“Tighten up the graphics!” Also, it’s impossible for one guy to make the whole game. Well, If we’re talking AAA titles.

As a game tester, my answer to this question is it’s all true. That way, I don’t have to go into the specifics of the job. I’m not big on talking about my job outside of work. It’s hard to explain what this job is to people who are outside of the industry.

Strangely enough, I kinda like crunch time. I work in games, QA, and we don’t get paid in salary. Seeing that nice bump in pay for OT is awesome. But in my experience, crunch that I’ve gone through was very minimal. 60 hour weeks sounds like a lot, but I spend 10 hours a day at work anyways. Traffic is really crappy

My first bike, 04 SV650s. I’ve been riding pretty much everyday for over 4 years. Still riding this thing. Super forgiving to the beginner. Power is consistent all the way up the revs. No crazy spikes.

I was really hoping someone would bring up I, Jedi. I really liked the 'certain point of view' call back Corran does.
