How did a judge or jury ever go for this? I can understand the kid's lawyers trying that defense, but that's their job. They're supposed to defend their clients. The rest of the legal system is supposed to be there to say, "Nice try, guys. This kid's still going to jail."

I don't really get this. Sure, the affluenza defense makes a tiny bit of sense, people who've never had to deal with being responsible act irresponsibly. Especially as minors.
