Yeah. I wish we had more comprehensive requirements. I mean, I think they mostly prepared me for driving, but people like... my sister for example, should probably not even be behind the wheel despite passing the tests.

Maybe. I think our system just emphasizes using the roads and behaving around other drivers correctly more than mastering a particular type of car. Nobody in America that I know of just "happens to" drive a manual when they've never done it before. Someone could surely try, but they wouldn't have a clue what they were

Whoa now, buddy. Calm down. I have actually been abroad. Canada, England, France, Spain, Egypt, and Ghana. I wasn't saying that because I literally cannot imagine it, I was saying it because it's just the opposite from everyone over here.

My only thought on whether he could use the standard shifter is maybe if he can't reach well. In that case maybe he has a column-mounted shifter.

My mind is blown every time you or another European jalop say they have no experience with automatics.

Lol, no they aren't but they generally look better than Ferraris.

With the bizzare looks of the F12, the Lamborghini should have no trouble monstering it in sales.

Hyperbole is a difficult thing to get right on the internet. Kind of like using sarcasm but not making it entirely clear that you're being sarcastic.

Someone already has.

Even if it was staged, which I'm not entirely convinced of (were there any elements of the "plot" of that segment that hung on Hammond winning and Jeremy coming in last?), it was a good race. There did seem to be a bit of bias against the Mustang, but I think Clarkson did a good job of extolling its virtues.

I'm amused that you, having watched the review AND come to Jalopnik to comment, don't think they could be a perk.

Yeah, an open thread isn't really the place you go to avoid spoilers. The point is to talk about the episode.

I sense great butthurt from someone who had their ass handed to them by a muscle car.

I'm actually sort of looking for a Trans Am GTA with digital dash. I don't have the money at the moment, but when I do, I'd like to get one.

I'm not missing the point. You probably just haven't read the other replies here. Go ahead and put liters per 100km or whatever on the fuel efficiency thing, but don't take MPG off. It's still a valuable means of measuring efficiency, and is one we're all pretty familiar with already.

"The Clubman is rated at 30mpg combined, the Prius is 50mpg. That's a massive improvement in fuel efficiency, right? An increase of 20mpg, a 67% improvement! Over the same 12,000 miles, the Clubman would burn 400 gallons of gas. The Prius would burn 240 gallons, a savings of 160 gallons of gas."

True... but did the technology for Pontiac's bumper spring out of nowhere in that time? And why not a mid-mid-cycle refresh?

Bravo

I think Pontiac called their bumpers "Endura" bumpers for a long time. The Trans Ams had them throughout the second generation, at least.

Pontiac Rallye II wheels.
