So, like the Netflix shows, just with actors from the movies?

This is just an amazing and crazy time for the audio-visual medium and its intersection with comic book adaptations. Think about how many formats that Marvel has used and is using to create live action adaptations:

This should be great as Rinzler’s books on the OT (and Indy) are fantastic.

I have a feeling the show runners don’t think the show can go on if the main characters set up a functioning civilization. Which is ridiculous. As you said, they could have a civ that expands and branches out, and that expansion could be what drives the plot going forward. In fact I would be interested in a more

There *was* a very obvious end to the storyline. Negan is defeated, and with the Saviors gone the Alexandria/Hilltop/Kingdom alliance is able to slowly rebuild a semblance of society.

Absolutely agree on the idea that Carl’s death will prove to be the killer for TWD. When you spend the whole show on Rick and the world he’s trying to create for his son and daughter...then kill the son unceremoniously...you kill any motivation the audience had to see the show play out.

A perfect example of the shows problem. They focus more on fishing for ratings than on just making a really good show. Planning a franchise over prioritizing good writing. Without Rick to bookend the story, and after killing off Carl last season, the show as a piece of mythology is pointless. It shows that the show

Kirk Acevedo, who plays the alarmingly persistent Ricardo Diaz, has been promoted to series regular for the show’s seventh season.

What gets my goat is the term “Antifa.” When did being an anti-fascist suddenly become a bad thing? Did the redneckbeards realize they were also ironically labeling themselves the very thing we were accusing them of being?

‘Sjw’s is right up there with ‘virtue signaling’ these terms have been invented to dehumanize others for their advocacy. It’s an old technique of hate groups.

One of the things I dislike the most about this is that they are stealing so many of Spideys greatest villains. I’m glad that my favorite (Mysterio) will be in the next movie, but adapting Kraven the last hunt would have been a amazing MCU story. Since Spidey been making a name of himself lately.

The whole thing starts with Harley kidnapping Dr Phil. Played by Dr Phil hopefully. Because her and the Joker are having problems with their relationship.

Daredevil has still been my favorite Netflix Marvel show so I can’t wait for Season 3. While Season 2 had it’s issues overall it gave us an amazing chemistry between Elodie Yung and Charlie Cox, and a pitch perfect introduction to Punisher.

Now playing

I’m good with a Steve who understands not everything is a clear cut, black and white situation as long as he sticks to his moral core.

I absolutely loved the first movie, but the 2nd one just left a bad taste in my mouth. No real interest in #3, especially after killing Roxy and Merlin.

If I were a betting man, I would put money on the fact they are going to make a nice fan friendly version of TNG era Trek for this one. No one will be decrying what timeline it’s set in, no screaming about how the ship looks or the bridge (that was mostly me by the way) And Stewart is rich enough he doesn’t have to do

OK, but Luke’s hero story was told from 1977-83. There was no new ground to cover there. If I want to see Luke the aspirational hero, I’ll go watch TESB or ROTJ again, as I have done many times already.

Luke “gave up” because he was convinced that any action he would take would only make things worse, that the best way he could help was by removing his own damaging influence from the board. It’s a bit self-defeating and self-pitying, but it’s a very real and human attitude.

Here is the thing though. Picard pretty much represents the idealized version of what humanity can be in the Star Trek universe. If you “Skywalker” him then you sh*t on Rodenberry’s whole progressive vision of humanity striving to achieve their potential, which is pretty much the whole point of Star Trek.

Look, I’m fine with a Picard that has changed, or grown, but not a disillusioned Picard. 1) I don’t necessarily believe that’s really that compelling of a tale to tell 2) It would be nice to know that the character that you loved, respected, and admired doesn’t become just another beaten down old man.
