Did Gareth Edwards finally figure out how to give the titular character(s) more than 10 minutes of screentime?

Yeah, check out this manthread someone just posted:
when Leslie Jones does this, Jezebel does 10 separate “YAAAAAASSSS QUEEEEEEN!” posts
Counterpoint: Stop adding the “Man-” prefix to everything you don’t like. You’re doing nothing but making a gender issue out of something that has nothing to do with gender. Your examples of “Manthreading” (ugh) aren’t even directed at or about women. They’re just people breaking up their lengthier thoughts on…
What does this have to do with men? When you position it like that it just looks like you’re trolling for clicks.
1. Trying to gender a non-gendered trait/habit/thing is stupid. It’s not edgy, it’s not satirical, it’s just stupid.
“Today, a woman named Alana Hope Levinson, a “journalist” with around 30 readers, decided it was time for her to voice her concern that people are “ruining her experiences” without consultation from the rest of the internet (it wasn’t time and will never be time)“
FTFY
Sorry Alana, but you don’t have any more of a right…
Another, “men shut up,” post.
That’s kind of like walking up to a bear’s den whilst the bear is outside blocking the sign behind him that says “Danger: Bears”.
Sadly, this news fills me with inertia. I so want this to be good, to be relevant, to be about IDIC and optimism... but this sounds like a slightly different angle on something we’ve already seen. Does Trek need to be rebooted again? Can’t this franchise - beloved of so many, representing so much hope, go forward?
Shoe polish and leftover Fu Manchu staches for all? God, I hope not.
Rosita’s sole purpose on the show is to make me say “Damn, she fine as hell” every time she appears on screen.
I’m so happy I stopped watching this show.
Just finished it now, and add me to the list of people who liked it quite a lot. Good story, tons of action, more than decent effects and costume, overly predictable story beats, and characters you liked. If it had starred a couple of B-listers instead of C-listers it would have gotten an October theatrical release…
I’d argue that its great up until the final battle where things get really handwavy with everything (though still looks cool as shit) and then its alright. But other than the whole handwavyness of the climax it was great.
The climax falls short a bit mostly because theres a whole bunch of -really- handwavy science-like stuff at the end and they somewhat ignore some of the internal logic of the movie for the cool as shit looking battle...but it is a very enjoyable watch.
Sort of. And it follows a lot of the plot points of Aliens. It’s pretty cool, in my opinion. Not a classic, or anything, but it’s pretty fun.
Do it. It’s fine. I’m not done with it, but probably, like, a 6 out of 10. 5 being average—not a failing grade like a 50 would be in school.
Not every movie can or should be an ultra amazing over the top incredible masterpiece. Trying to do so is how you end up with garbage like BvsS.
Fuck you geolocking.
